ACL Homes currently run two Mental Health Residential Care Homes and two Supported Living Houses situated in the pleasant sea-side town of Folkestone, Kent, in South East England.

The Residential Care Homes buildings have been named ‘Arthur Court’ and ‘Camelot Lodge’, both are located practically opposite each other on Christchurch Road.

Arthur Court
This is the larger of two Homes, located opposite each other, close to the centre of Folkestone and is able to house 19 active adults suffering from a variety of Mental Health Problems.

The aims of the Home include:

  • Allow the residents to live within the community.
  • Continue to lead independent lives whenever possible.
  • To continue making their own decisions.
  • Maintaining their daily living skills to the optimum.
  • To be willing to follow a programme of carrying out as much self care to their maximum potential.

We provide stability, routine and security for when it is needed, encouraging residents to be involved in decision making.

Camelot Lodge
This is the smaller residential care Home and located almost opposite to Arthur Court. It is a very lively Home for adults with a mental health problem and can provide a reasonable amount of assistance as well as support.

Client meetings are held regularly to ensure that the family atmosphere prevails and that the Home’s Objectives are maintained.

There is a friendly mix of residents in the Home, some of whom are working towards returning to their own private accommodation in the community.

Clients are able to attend the local Day Centre activities on a regular basis, which is only a 10 minute walk away, attend Aspirations and be involved in the local M.I.N.D.Resource Centre.

The Home is a regular contact point used by the local Social Services Mental Health Team and the Social Services Department at the main hospital in Ashford, when looking for suitable accommodation as we endeavor to meet our client needs.

Independent Living – Field House
We have a house with shared accommodation, providing Assured Shorthold Tenancies for 3 people. This way we can provide a wide range of services in a supportive and empowering environment.

It means that we can offer individuals the opportunity to enhance their life skills, while building the emotional strength to lead active lives back in their own community and to live the lives they want and have the opportunities they deserve.
